What an honor!
If you’ve been a Christian in the 70s and early 80s, you know who Don is. If not, well, you have got to get familiar with him. I was just a kid when the Jesus Movement was in full force (cough … contrary to popular opinion, I really wasn’t born in the first century!). So I came to learn about him later. But I will simply tell you that as far as I’m concerned, the most powerful and moving Christian song ever written in the 20th century came from Don’s pen.
It’s the only song that makes me cry every time I hear it. And I’m being literal there . . . “every time” I hear it.
