Deja vu with Jason Bourne

My favorite action film of all time is The Bourne Identity … all three parts actually. One of the reasons why I like these films so much is because I can identify with Jason Bourne in so many ways.

Take for instance in the first film — when he enters into a diner with Marie and says:

“I can tell you the license plates of all six cars outside. I can tell you that our waitress is left-handed, and the guy sitting up at the counter weighs 215 pounds and knows how to handle himself. I know the best place to look for a gun is in the cab of the gray truck outside, and that at this altitude I can run flat out for a half a mile before my hands start to shake. Now why would I know that?”

Am I the only one who has this same experience every time I walk into a diner???

Hmmm …

p.s. By the way, my second favorite song of the season is Extreme Ways by Moby. It’s the coda to all the Bourne Identity movies. (I prefer the original edition of the song better than the second version.) My first favorite song of the season is Modern Day Moses.
